Recently, mainly due to the sudden increase in the price of coal, which has forced ceramic companies to increase the price of ceramic tiles many times. It can be said that coal has to a large extent become the main driver of the current explosion in production costs of ceramic companies.
“As of now, the factory-to-factory price of coal in Linyi production areas has reached as high as 2,200 yuan/ton, which has become an incentive for Linyi ceramic enterprises to increase prices three times in a row this month.” A person in charge of Linyi ceramic enterprises who did not want to be named told "Ceramic Information".

Due to the different cost increases in various production areas, the price increases of various ceramic enterprisesand frequency are also very different. In Linyi, Shandong Province, on October 1, most ceramic companies concentrated on raising product prices. In this adjustment, single-piece interior wall tiles generally increased by 0.1 yuan, and single-piece 800×800mm floor tiles increased by 0.5 yuan.
On October 12, Linyi ceramics enterprises once again collectively raised prices. This time, the price of ordinary 300×600mm interior wall tiles increased by 0.1 yuan, the ordinary 400×800mm interior wall tiles increased by 0.2 yuan, and the 400×800mm specification increased by 0.2 yuan. The price of floor tiles increased by 0.1 yuan, and the price of 800×800mm floor tiles increased by 0.5 yuan.
“The above two price increases were only enough to offset the increased production costs caused by the increase in coal prices in early September. As coal prices skyrocketed, they rose by 500-600 yuan/ton in a few days, which is equivalent to 300× per piece. For 600mm interior wall tiles, the production cost will increase by 0.2 yuan," said a general manager of a ceramics company in Linyi who did not want to be named.
Subsequently, coal prices rose further. On October 18, Linyi Ceramics Enterprises once again issued a price increase notice. Starting from October 20, the entire series of 300×300mm small floor tiles will increase by 0.1 yuan, the entire series of 200×600mm specification interior wall tiles will increase by 0.1 yuan, and the 300×450mm specification will increase by 0.1 yuan. The price of all interior wall tiles will be increased by 0.1 yuan. The price of all 300×600mm interior wall tiles will be raised by 0.2 yuan. The price of all 400 x 800mm interior wall tiles will be raised by 0.3 yuan. The price of all 300 x 600mm mid-board types will be raised by 0.2 yuan. The price of 400 x 800mm will be raised by 0.2 yuan. The price of medium-sized boards will be increased by 0.3 yuan for all series, the floor tiles of 800×800mm size will be raised by 1 yuan, and the 600×1200mm size will be raised by 1 yuan.
"The main reason for the first three price increases was the rising prices of coal and raw materials, as well as the limited power supply, which led to a sharp increase in production costs.
